Funds in the endowment are invested and managed per Board-approved guidelines. Once the principal reaches a pre-determined level, the Audubon Forever fund provides a reliable source of income in perpetuity, providing ongoing support for programs and/or activities that make Audubon the special place it is, has been and will always be.
In 2008, an anonymous donor, moved by the amazing programs, vision and achievements of Audubon School, made a restricted $50,000 donation to Friends of Audubon for the expressed purpose of creating an endowment. The donor’s intent was to ensure that Audubon’s vision would be sustained for generations to come by shoring up resources against the uncertainty of Board of Education financing.
After the initial $50,000 investment was made, the Friends of Audubon Board of Directors voted to make two subsequent investments in the endowment fund. In 2015, a committee was formed to grow the fund through outreach to alumni, former staff members, community members and other supporters.
